Over the last 15 years, I've seen a lot of neat stuff while visiting archives, reading rare books, and buying undervalued things on eBay. This is a place to share those stories and images. The site is dedicated to the skilled government weather and climate experts who "protect life and property" while rarely getting the respect they deserve.
I'm an historian of science who loves looking at pictures.
I've done public history work for a variety of clients, as well as taught American history, STS, and environmental studies to undergraduates. My research has been funded by fellowships from the National Science Foundation, the American Meteorological Society, and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. This site reflects only my own views, and has not been funded by any organization.
I live with my family in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where I like bird watching along Conodoguinet Creek.
